Champneys Forest Mere, a renowned destination spa set in a peaceful lakeside estate, commissioned Butterscotch Design to create a transformative thermal retreat. The vision was to blend contemporary spa luxury with the grounding calm of nature, creating a deeply sensory journey that speaks to the body and the mind.
As part of the thermal experience, we designed a pair of cylindrical glass multi-sensory experience showers to sit between the sauna and spa areas. These freestanding sculptural forms deliver tropical rain, mist, and programmed lighting sequences to support temperature contrast therapy and deepen the ritual of the spa journey.
Positioned to create visual impact while enhancing wellness flow, the showers offer guests a moment of refreshing pause – surrounded by dappled light, ambient sound, and the gentle rhythm of water. The design echoes the spa’s broader ethos of bringing the outside in and feeling enveloped by a forest environment.
