SILVERLAKE ALFRESCO SPA

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Silverlake Dorset, this pioneering wellness retreat was designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Overlooking a tranquil lake with sweeping views towards the Jurassic Coast, the project challenged us to redefine the concept of a spa experience – one that is deeply connected to the elements and truly immersive.

Inspired by nature, we developed a groundbreaking UK-first spa concept where treatment pods appear to float over the water’s edge, creating a serene and meditative escape. Guests move through a journey of relaxation that embraces the landscape, from the thermal suite to the wild swimming area, encouraging a reconnection with the environment. A floating fire pit adds a dramatic focal point, while arrival by water taxi transforms the sense of place and anticipation, making every visit an experience in itself.

Sustainability was at the heart of the design. Locally sourced natural materials were carefully selected to reflect the surrounding environment, while an innovative modular construction approach ensured that each element was precision-built off-site and craned into position with minimal ecological impact.

This unique fusion of luxury, wellness, and sustainability makes Silverlake a true sanctuary – where design, nature, and wellbeing exist in perfect harmony.
